A morning of noticing

We spend much of our lives responding.  To other people, to our environment, to what needs doing next.  Often without noticing what is happening within us.

TRE & The Herd is an invitation to slow things down.

To spend some time alongside the horses, noticing ourselves in relationship and becoming curious about our own responses, before taking that same curiosity into the body through an introduction to TRE.

There is nothing you need to achieve, fix or change. We begin with what is here.

ALONGSIDE THE HERD

Horses naturally move through different states throughout the day. They notice and respond to what is happening around them and to one another, at times becoming alert or moving in response, and at others grazing, resting, playing or connecting with the herd.

Being alongside the horses gives us an opportunity to slow things down and become curious about our own responses.

What draws our attention? What happens within us when a horse comes closer or moves away? Where do we feel comfortable? What happens when something changes around us?

There is nothing you need to make happen and no particular way you need to interact with the horses.

Wherever you are when you arrive is simply where we begin.

FROM THE HERD TO TRE

We’ll then take that same curiosity and awareness into an introduction to TRE with Kristina Matej, a qualified TRE provider.

TRE stands for Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises. It begins with a series of gentle exercises and stretches that help us become a little more embodied, bringing our attention into different parts of the body and noticing what we can feel as we move through them.

The exercises also gently fatigue some of the muscles, helping prepare the body for the tremoring.

Towards the end of the exercises, we lie down on mats (and you can be under a blanket if you prefer) and use a particular position to invite the body’s natural tremoring or shaking response.

An important part of learning TRE is also learning how to slow or stop the tremors, so you go at your own pace and can pause or stop at any point.

IF THIS FEELS LIKE SOMETHING YOU’D LIKE TO TRY…

You don’t need any previous experience of horses or TRE.

There is nothing you need to prepare, and no particular way you need to arrive. The morning is an invitation to notice, explore and experience at your own pace.

Simply come curious.
