BOOKING TERMS AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Last updated: September 2026
Company Number: 16544722
ICO Registration Number: ZC004771
1. ABOUT THESE TERMS
These terms apply to bookings made with The Noble Herd EFL & EFP CIC, company number 16544722, registered office Manufactory House, Bell Lane, Hertford, Hertfordshire SG14 1BP.
You can contact us at kate@thenobleherd.co.uk.
Please read these terms before booking. They form part of the agreement between you and The Noble Herd when you book a one-to-one session, workshop, retreat or other activity.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
2. OUR SERVICES
Our equine-facilitated activities are non-ridden, educational and experiential.
They may support reflection, personal development and wellbeing, but they are not medical, psychiatric or psychological treatment and are not a substitute for professional healthcare.
We do not promise any particular outcome.
Some events include an element delivered by an appropriately qualified visiting facilitator. The event information will identify this where relevant.
3. BOOKING AND PAYMENT
A place is not confirmed until we have accepted the booking and received the payment or deposit requested.
Prices and what is included are stated at the time of booking. You are responsible for checking that the date, time, location and activity are suitable before paying.
Where another person makes a booking for you, they must have your authority to provide the information and accept these terms on your behalf.
Gift vouchers and pre-paid blocks are subject to any validity period stated when purchased.
4. ONE-TO-ONE CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING
You may cancel or rearrange a one-to-one appointment by contacting us.
If you give at least 48 hours’ notice, we will refund the payment or move it to another available appointment.
With less than 48 hours’ notice, the full session fee may be charged because it may not be possible to offer the appointment to someone else.
We will consider exceptional circumstances fairly.
If we can refill the appointment, we may offer a refund or transfer at our discretion.
5. RETREATS, WORKSHOPS AND DATED EVENTS
• 14 or more days before the event: you may receive a full refund or transfer the payment to another available event.
• 7 to 13 days before the event: 50% of the fee will be refunded, or the full payment may be transferred once to another available event.
• Fewer than 7 days before the event: the fee is non-refundable, but if we refill your place we will offer a refund or transfer.
You may nominate another suitable person to attend in your place with our prior agreement and after they have completed any required participant information and consent forms.
These cancellation provisions are subject to your statutory rights and will be applied fairly.
6. DISTANCE-BOOKING CANCELLATION RIGHTS
Some remotely booked services may carry a statutory 14-day cancellation right. Dated leisure activities may be exempt.
If you ask us to provide a service during a statutory cancellation period, we may require your express request to begin.
If the service is fully provided during that period, you may lose the statutory right to cancel. If you cancel after it has begun, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied.
7. IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL AN ACTIVITY
Horses are sentient animals and activities are also affected by weather, ground conditions, facilitator availability and participant numbers.
We may make reasonable changes to the horses, facilitator, timetable or location where the essential nature of the activity remains the same.
If we cancel or make a material change, you may choose a full refund of the amount paid to us or transfer to another available date.
We are not responsible for separate travel, accommodation or other costs, except where the law requires otherwise.
8. SAFETY AND PARTICIPATION
Participants must:
• Provide complete and accurate information that is relevant to safe participation and tell us if it changes.
• Follow facilitators’ safety instructions and respect the horses, other participants, staff and property.
• Wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy closed-toe footwear. Sandals and open-toed shoes are not permitted around horses.
• Not attend while under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs, or where illness makes participation unsafe.
• Understand that horses are large animals whose behaviour can be unpredictable despite careful selection, management and supervision.
Participation is always by choice. You may pause or step back from an activity at any time.
We may adapt or stop participation where we reasonably believe this is necessary for safety, welfare or appropriate group conduct.
This will be handled sensitively and does not automatically create a right to a refund where the participant has withheld relevant information or failed to follow reasonable instructions.
9. CHILDREN AND ADULTS REQUIRING SUPPORT
Participants under 18 require consent from a parent or legal guardian.
We may require a parent, guardian, carer or responsible professional to remain present, depending on the participant’s age, needs and the activity.
Suitability is considered individually under our referral and safeguarding procedures.
10. PHOTOGRAPHY, CONFIDENTIALITY AND GROUP ACTIVITIES
Photography or recording by The Noble Herd for publicity requires separate permission.
Participants must not photograph, film or record another participant without their consent.
In group activities, everyone is asked to respect the privacy of others, although The Noble Herd cannot guarantee the conduct of other participants outside the activity.
11. PERSONAL BELONGINGS AND LIABILITY
Please take reasonable care of personal belongings.
We are not responsible for loss or damage unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You remain responsible for following safety guidance and making choices about your own participation.
12. PRIVACY
Our Website Privacy Policy and Participant Privacy Notice explain how we use personal information.
Health information is requested only where relevant to suitability, reasonable adjustments and safe participation.
13. CONCERNS AND COMPLAINTS
Please raise concerns as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to help.
Our Complaints Policy is available on our website, and complaints may be sent to kate@thenobleherd.co.uk.
14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms for future bookings.
The terms supplied or available when your booking is accepted will apply to that booking. Later changes will not retrospectively alter an existing agreement unless we both agree or the change is required by law.
15. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer right to bring proceedings elsewhere within the United Kingdom.
